Locks
A locked device shows up on intake, not when the customer sends it back.
On a Mac, an iPhone or an iPad, as soon as the serial number is saved, Vist runs an automatic iCloud, MDM and lost-mode check through an external verification service. The result is dated and carried into the diagnostic. On a PC, BIOS, EFI or manufacturer locks are ticked at diagnostic.

What people ask us.
How does the trial work?
You pick a plan and give a card on the secure payment page: nothing is charged for 15 days. An email sends you the link to activate your account. The trial includes 3 iCloud checks, whatever the plan. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription starts; you can cancel online.
Is Vist only for Apple?
No. Laptops, desktops, monitors, smartphones and tablets of every brand follow the same path: batch, diagnostic, repair, label, sale, margin. Two things are specific to Apple: the catalogue that pre-fills 243 models, and the automatic iCloud, MDM and lost-mode check, through an external verification service. Elsewhere, the model is entered freely and BIOS or manufacturer locks are found at diagnostic.
What happens when the month’s checks run out?
The device is recorded, but the automatic check does not run and its record says so. Contact us if your workshop needs more checks.
Can I get my data back if I leave?
Not yet as self-service: file export has not shipped. It is planned to take everything with you — devices, batches, customers, repairs, sales. If that is a condition for you, write to us before subscribing.
Does Vist wipe the devices’ data?
No. Vist does not wipe drives or issue erasure certificates: you keep your own tool. The record’s notes and photos keep track of what was done.
Does Vist publish my listings on marketplaces?
No, no marketplace is connected. The sale is recorded in Vist, which works out its margin; the listing goes on the platform of your choice.
What is not in Vist yet?
Invoicing your sales, SMS, a public API, file import and export, and tracking returns and after-sales. We would rather say it here than have you find out during the trial.
